Woodshedding Series for Composers & Musicians

The Canadian Music Centre and the Canadian League of Composers present

A Series of Free Workshops for Composers & Musicians

Extended techniques and beyond: composing for harp, zheng, and cello

Join us this fall as we present a three part series of FREE workshops with world renowned performers Heidi Krutzen, Mei Han and Ariel Barnes.

A tangible and tactile sonic wonderland of extended possibilities will unfold as they guide us through the sounds of the harp, zheng and cello, respectively.  These workshops will delve into the associated performance practice and the practicalities of utilizing such techniques compositionally.  The workshops will be interactive, with live demonstrations, so bring your sketches and bring your questions.  Composers, performers, and anyone with a general interest in the “behind the scenes of music making” are welcome to attend.

Please RSVP at or 604-734-4622, space is limited.
